Swissnoso Symposium
Each year, Swissnoso organises a national symposium. Initially, the programme focused on SSI surveillance, but in recent years and with the development of new modules within Swissnoso, the programme has expanded to a broader field in the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections (HAI). This symposium is open to people interested in the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.
In this 2026 edition, the program includes a review of SSIs in the last year by D. Berthod., a presentation of the German SSI Surveillance system, the introduction to Swissnoso guidelines in SSI prevention, the experience of an IPC nurse in the OR, the update from ANQ. The afternoon will focus on subcutaneous infections, transmission of airborne pathogens (new WHO guidelines), the digitalization of HAIs by Swissnoso, a presentation form the CEO of Hirslanden Gruppe about the many challenges of a group-wide IPC program, and a presentation on Infection control (the end?) by Prof. Andreas Widmer.
