Partner Societies

The Swiss Society for Infectious Diseases (SSI) is proud to collaborate with leading organizations dedicated to advancing research, education, and public health in the field of infectious diseases. Our strategic partnerships help strengthen the fight against infectious diseases both in Switzerland and globally. Through these collaborations, we aim to enhance healthcare practices, share knowledge, and improve patient outcomes. Below are our key partner societies:

The SAFE-ID Foundation was created in 2003 by the five academic infectious diseases divisions of the Swiss University Hospitals. The Foundation's purpose is bringing to Swiss ID-physicians, clinical microbiologists, virologists, as well as other related scientists the latest in post-graduate training and continuing medical education in the field. Board members and Scientific Committees work pro bono. SAFE-ID is supported by unrestricted educational grants of the pharmaceutical industry.
Over 1000 healthcare professionals are attending SAFE-ID educational events annually.

The Swiss Society of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology (SSTMP) unites students and professionals and promotes the passion for tropical medicine and parasitology. Our goal is to strengthen and expand the Swiss community of experts and the network among students, scientists, clinicians and other professionals as well as their organisations in the field of parasitology, tropical medicine and global health.

The Fungal Infection Network of Switzerland (FUNGINOS) is a registered Association with seat in Lausanne. This national hospital network was founded by infectious diseases specialists with internationally recognized expertise in the field of invasive fungal infections.
Aim of the FUNGINOS Association is to promote clinical and basic research on the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of invasive fungal infections. The goal is to promote good clinical practice and medical education as well as to improve management and outcome of patients suffering from these life-threatening complications.
