SSI Continuing Education Program

This regulation establishes the framework for continuing education in the field of infectiology, in accordance with recognized national standards and professional guidelines. It is based on the Continuing Education Regulations (FBO) of the Swiss Institute for Continuing Medical Education (SIWF) dated April 25, 2002, the Federal Act on Medical Professions (MedBG) of June 23, 2006, and the SAMW guidelines on "Collaboration between Medical Professionals and Industry." All infectious disease specialists are required to participate in continuing medical education (CME). In accordance with the Swiss Federal Law on the Free Movement of Medical Professionals (FMPG), every holder of a Swiss or foreign specialist title – regardless of their employment status – is obliged to pursue ongoing professional education as outlined in this CME regulation.
